| Outside a shrine near Kyoto Station. You always have to take your shoes off before entering so they give out bags in front of the shrine to carry your shoes. After putting your shoes on as you leave, drop the bag in a box and it is re-used. :) |

Hi! I just randomly stumbled across your blog when researching about Okinawan life and read through a few of your posts. My husband and I are PCSing in August and he is also a Dentist and will be stationed on Camp Foster. Thanks for sharing your experience; it's been great getting a better idea of what to expect and look forward to!
